It’s Smiling at You…

Ever heard of the Happy Face Spider (or Theridion Grallator)?  Neither had I until I saw this picture…

Apparently it’s a spider found only in the Hawaiian rainforests.  They were no discovered until 1973.  The pattern can change based on diet, but it seems that the pattern evolved as a protection mechanism often confusing predators.  Cool.
